Weight Management

When losing weight by eating less, it is important to chose the right foods!

In the short term, by eating too little you may experience a lack of energy, or fatigue. In the long term it can lead to nutritional deficiencies causing more problems. In addition, the body will go into starvation mode and save most of the little you eat in the fat cells ‘for a rainy day’. This is just a natural surviving mechanism.

Healthy food contain nutrients that our cells need to function normally. If we cut off the external supply of nutrients, by eating less, the consequence will be unhealthy starvation!

Take protein for instance: if enough protein is not supplied in the food we eat, the body’s protein depots will be depleted. This will eventually lead to less muscle volume and an increase in fat percentage. Lean body mass, including muscle tissue, burn on average six times as many calories as fat cells at rest. With a diminished muscle percentage in the body we end up in a negative spiral; we burn fewer calories and store more calories as fat. Weight control has then become a problem. A personalised Herbalife program can help you get out of that spiral!

Is skipping breakfast a good idea?…
Not so much!

Eating too little will slow down the metabolism so we burn fewer calories which is counteractive if we want to lose weight. Not eating will also make us tired and give us cravings which in turn make us look for bad choices of snacks.

Obstacles resulting in slow weight loss.

Common obstacles to healthy weight loss with other diets are:

  1. Lack of essential nutrients
  2. Low metabolism
  3. Loss of energy
  4. Craving for sweet snacks
  5. Staying Motivated

The Herbalife diet system will help you overcome these obstacles, with:

1. … all Essential Nutrients
Many other weight loss programs/diets are more or less only cutting back on calories. This can easily result in nutritional deficiencies; causing a lowered immune system, headaches and hunger pangs. Many give up, or start cheating, when facing such obstacles caused by malnutrition. Most of them ignore some of the key elements to long term health, like vitamins, minerals and other essential nutrients. Herbalife is very different in that their diet feeds the body with needed nutrients. The result is a ‘happy and energetic body’ standing a better chance of reaching set weight management goals.
2.   … Increased Metabolism
The higher your metabolism the more calories (energy) you are burning. The more calories you’re burning the faster you can lose weight. Eating too little will puts the body in ‘starvation mood’ and lowers the metabolism to ‘survive’. That’s when your body is saving the little it gets on the hips, belly, thighs, etc. Herbalife Nutrition programs are designed to help maximize your metabolism, by eating delicious meals and healthy snacks regularly.
3.   … Boosted Energy
Eating a diet with high-glycaemic carbohydrates (containing high levels of sugar) hinders the fat burning process. The instant pick-up, or energy boost, initially experienced by sugar intake will soon have adverse effects. It will eventually decrease your energy levels, by letting your pancreas ‘overload’. This makes us tired, which in turn makes us look for more snacks… and round and round it goes.
On the other hand, Herbalife’s high protein diet and snacks has a low glycaemic index – thus avoiding the sugar peaks and lets us go through the day full of energy.
4.   … Fewer Cravings
Snack temptations can with other types of diet ruin all your plans and achievements. Cravings are simply a way for the body to tell us that something is missing and needed. There are thousands of processes going on in our bodies all the time, and in every process nutrients are needed. To get some energy and satisfy the craving we often make the bad choice of a sweet snack, instead of a protein rich snack that will keep energy levels more even. With Herbalife you eat something nutritious every 2-3 hours and will therefor experience fewer cravings.
5.   … Staying motivated
When you buy a Herbalife Nutrition Program you don’t only buy products. A Personal Wellness Coach will come with your purchase for free! He/she can help you with everything from a Diet Plan to staying motivated through the whole process and keep you on track until you reach set goals.

So, a personalised Herbalife diet program will not only help you to lose weight, but it will also help to improve your energy and general wellness.
